Discussing your interests and hobbies, researching local activities and events, finding groups aligned with your interests, exploring new activities you’d like to try, identifying accessible venues and activities.
Arranging Participation:
Contacting activity organizers, enrolling you in programs, arranging transport to activities, coordinating timing with your schedule, handling registration and paperwork.
Accompaniment:
Accompanying you to activities, providing transport assistance, introducing you to groups, staying for initial visits until comfortable, providing support during activities, encouraging participation at your comfort level.
Facilitating Engagement:
Helping you participate in activities, adapting activities to your abilities, encouraging social interaction with others, supporting you through any anxiety, ensuring you’re included and comfortable.

What to Expect from Social Activity Support
First Time:
We’ll discuss your interests and what you’d enjoy, research suitable activities, arrange transport and accompaniment, stay with you throughout initial activities, help you feel comfortable and welcome.
Building Routine:
Establishing regular activity schedule, gradually building confidence, supporting independence as you’re ready, maintaining support as long as you need.
Flexibility:
Trying new activities, adjusting based on your preferences, changing activities if interests change, respecting your choices.
Coordinating Transport
Social activities require transport:
We can arrange transport (see our Transport Arrangement service), accompany you in transport to activity, provide door-to-door support, ensure safe arrival and return, coordinate timing with activity schedule.

What if I don't know what activities I'd enjoy?
We’ll explore together! We discuss your past interests and hobbies, research various local options, try different activities to see what you enjoy, adjust based on your feedback. Discovering new interests is part of the journey.
Will you stay with me during the activity?
Initially, yes-we stay to help you feel comfortable, introduce you to others, support participation. As you gain confidence, we can gradually reduce support or wait nearby. It’s entirely your choice and pace.
What if I want to attend independently eventually?
That’s wonderful! We’ll support your growing independence, gradually stepping back, perhaps just providing transport, celebrating your confidence, being available if you need support again later.
Can you help me make friends at activities?
We can facilitate introductions, encourage conversations with others, help you join group discussions, support you in building connections. Friendships develop naturally when you’re regularly attending activities you enjoy.
What if I get tired or unwell during an activity?
We monitor your wellbeing, suggest breaks when needed, arrange to leave early if necessary, ensure you’re comfortable throughout, prioritize your health and comfort.
Can you help with hobbies at home?
Yes! Some of our services support hobbies at home (gardening, crafts, etc.). This service focuses on getting you to community activities, but we offer related services for home-based pursuits.
What if activities cost money?
Many community activities are low-cost or free. Some have small fees. We discuss costs beforehand, help you access concessions if eligible, find affordable options, ensure you’re comfortable with expenses.
Will you help me with religious services?
Absolutely. We respect all faiths and support attendance at religious services, religious study groups, spiritual gatherings. We’re respectful observers while you participate.
What about special events like concerts or shows?
Yes! We can arrange tickets, organize transport, accompany you to events, support you enjoying cultural and entertainment activities. Special outings add joy and variety to life.
How much does social activity support cost?
Depends on your funding. Support at Home Program: Covered by government funding. Home Care Packages: Included in your package budget. NDIS: Covered under Social and Community Participation. DVA: May be covered for eligible veterans. Private: Transparent hourly rate. Activity costs (entry fees, membership) are separate. Contact us to discuss costs for your specific situation.
